Together with Tiziana Gentili-Nenning (* 1960) Edler created the audio book Niki - the little pond turtle in 2008 . With his book Fatzke, Schüler-Privatdetektiv: - Criminal case: girls' toilet , Edler had its book premiere in 2012 at the Leipzig Book Fair . In 2012 Edler had a live appearance at the Hessentag .
Edler suffered from heart problems and should begin a rehab program. This never happened because he suffered a heart attack in his apartment in Bornheim and died.
