description

Field cross in Edelbeuren 2007

The small street village is located in the upper left valley of the Rot and borders on Gutenzell . In the valley the K 7511 crosses with the K 7580. In 1340 a Werner von Erolzheim sold Edelbeuren including the land and subjects to the Ochsenhausen monastery . As early as 1496, a member of the Erolzheim rulership bought the place back and built a castle there that still exists today. Edelbeuren remained part of the knighthood of Erolzheim until secularization . The castle is now a stately farmhouse. In 1806, Edelbeuren fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria until it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1810 .
