The Eden Rocks are two reef rocks in the Joinville Islands group off the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula . They are just off the eastern end of Dundee Island .
The British polar explorer James Clark Ross reported on an island that he discovered here on December 30, 1842 during his Antarctic expedition (1839–1843). He named it Eden Island after Captain (later Admiral ) Charles Eden (1808-1878) of the Royal Navy . After measurements by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1953, Ross' discovery was identified as the reef rocks described here and the naming was adapted accordingly.
