Edgar Solano Paredes (born October 26, 1978 in Mexico City ) is a former Mexican soccer player who mainly acted as a defender .

Career

Club career

Edgar Solano began his career in 1997 in defense of the Mexican first division club Club Necaxa . There he made his debut in the winter in a 1-0 win against Puebla FC . In 1999 he won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup with Nexana by beating LD Alajuelense from Costa Rica 2-1 in the final . A year later, he finished third at the 2000 FIFA Club World Cup in Brazil by beating Real Madrid 4-3 on penalties.

In the 2002/03 season Solano moved to CF Atlante , where he was an important player in the system of Miguel Herrera and came to a total of 37 appearances this season. In 2004 Solano finally moved to Monarcas Morelia , where he had the best phase of his career. In his three years with the team until 2007 he made a total of 113 league appearances and also scored one goal. He made frequent changes over the next three years, playing briefly at CF Monterrey and Chiapas FC before briefly returning to Club Nexana, where he began his career. He stayed everywhere but only for a short time and had fewer missions than before with Morelia. After another season with CD Veracruz , Solano finally ended his career on April 17, 2010.

In the 2013/14 season Solano was part of the coaching staff of Querétaro Fútbol Club in the Liga MX.

National team

Edgar Solado played seven times for the Mexican U-23 national team as part of the national Olympic selection in qualifying for the soccer tournament of the 2000 Summer Olympics , but could not qualify for this with Mexico.
