Ediger Laach

Ediger Laach is a nature reserve in the district of Cochem-Zell in Rhineland-Palatinate . The 16 hectare area is located southeast of Ediger between the B 49, which runs to the north, and the Moselle ; to the south-east is the island Taubengrün nature reserve .

The protection purpose is the preservation of the Moselwerth and the Ediger Laach

  • as a location for rare endangered plants and plant communities
  • as a breeding and resting area for numerous endangered bird species
  • to maintain the Moselle alarm with its alluvial forest
  • for natural historical reasons
  • because of its special landscape characteristics
