Edmond Jaquet

Edmond Jaquet (born April 8, 1891 in Le Châtelard , † December 19, 1979 in Montreux , reformed , resident in Vallorbe and Ballaigues ) was a Swiss politician (LPS) .

biography

Edmond Jaquet was born on April 8, 1891 in Le Châtelard to the official geometer Jules Albert Jaquet and Anna Berthe, née Cerez. After completing scientific studies at the University of Lausanne and obtaining the federal diploma as an official geometer , Jaquet took over his father's office in Montreux. Jaquet also served on the board of directors of the Vaudois Fund for Children's Aid and the Montreux-Bernese Oberland Railway . He also presided over the Vaud Society for Civil Defense and various local associations.

In 1919 he married Gabrielle Adèle, the daughter of Jean Charles Taillens from Lausanne . Edmond Jaquet died on December 19, 1979 at the age of 88 in Montreux.

Political career

As a member of the Liberal Party Jaquet belonged from 1926 to 1931 the legislature in the council and from 1931 to 1942 the city council on before the office of between 1942 and 1945 mayors held from Le Châtelard. He also represented his party in the Vaudois Grand Council between 1931 and 1945 . Edmond Jaquet last served on the Council of State between 1945 and 1958 .
