Edmund Müller (officer)

Edmund Müller (born August 21, 1926 in Lucerne ; † January 16, 2007 ; resident in Lucerne) was a Swiss officer , most recently in the rank of general of division .

Life

Family and education

The Catholic baptized, born in Lucerne Edmund Müller, son of electric mechanic Adolf Müller and born of his spouse Maria Fields, visited after his compulsory education from 1942 to 1944, the central Swiss trade and transport school he with the diploma ended. He then completed an apprenticeship as a postal worker until 1946 .

Edmund Müller was married to Nelly, the daughter of Arnold Glaus. He died in January 2007 at the age of 80.

Professional background

After being employed as a works clerk at Kreispostdirektion 3, he joined the Swiss Army in 1950 as an instruction officer for the supply troops , a position he held until 1968. Appointed General Staff Officer in 1964 , Edmund Müller was promoted to Division General in 1975. In this position he worked until 1983 as commandant of the central schools and as deputy chief of logistics. In 1984 Edmund Müller was given command of Field Division 8 , and in 1988 he was retired.

In his function as Deputy Chief of Logistics, Edmund Müller worked out a new supply concept.
