The Central School ZS is the military training center for prospective subordinate officers , partly also for NCOs and senior NCOs, as well as for captains of the Swiss Army . It is based in Lucerne .

organization

The ZS is divided into a staff and five course commands. The staff essentially organizes, plans and supports the commands. The Command Management School Unit (Kdo FS Einh) in Bern trains prospective company commanders , platoon leaders and their deputies . The Management, Information and Communication Training Command (Kdo MIKA), which also trains civilians in these areas in the so-called TRANSFER courses , is also located in Bern . There are three commands in Lucerne, the Technical Training Command (Kdo TLG), the Staff Training I Command (Kdo SLG I) and the Leadership Training II Command (Kdo FLG II). In the technical courses, technical basics are imparted to prospective officers of the staff of troops and / or large units. In SLG I, the management assistants are trained at battalion / department level. The FLG II is completed by prospective battalion commanders .

Courses

Central Officer Course (Of LG)

In the Of LG, prospective officers of all branches of the armed forces are taught the values ​​of an officer, the basic knowledge of the armed forces of the army and air force , command and control technology as well as the tasks and duties of an officer for four weeks .

Leadership course I (FLG I)

In FLG I, prospective company commanders are taught in the areas of leadership, tactics , combat technology and training, and the general basic knowledge of the army, security policy and military history is deepened. This course lasts four weeks. The FLG I is also completed by professional NCOs (prospective staff adjutants ) as part of their professional training.

Leadership course II (FLG II)

Prospective battalion commanders, their deputies and the Chief Operations Officer (S3) as well as future general staff officers are trained in the knowledge and skills of all weapons in the FLG II. The course is divided into two parts of 4 resp. Completed 2 weeks.

Staff course I (SLG I)

Prospective members of the battalion staff are trained in SLG I in knowledge and skills across all weapons. The course is completed in two parts. The first part lasts 2 weeks. The second part, also 2 weeks, is carried out together with FLG II. In this whole bars are formed.
