Edna Anhalt
Edna Anhalt (born April 10, 1914 in New York City , New York , † 1987 ) was an American screenwriter and film producer .
Life
In 1947, Anhalt worked with her then husband Edward Anhalt for the first time as a screenwriter for the feature film Bulldog Drummond Strikes Back . After that, without her husband, she wrote the westerns They Rode With Jesse James , Go To Hell And Sierra . In 1950, she and her husband wrote the template for Elia Kazan's film noir Under Secret Orders , for which both were awarded an Oscar . The couple received another Oscar nomination three years later for the thriller The Sniper by director Edward Dmytryk with Adolphe Menjou in the lead role. In 1952 she was the co-producer of four feature films, including The Sniper . In 1957 she wrote her last feature film script, after which she only worked a few times for television.
