Edoardo Purgatori

Edoardo Purgatori (born January 14, 1989 in Rome ) also known as Edoardo Hendrik is an Italian - German film and theater actor .

Life

Edoardo Purgatori was born in 1989 as the eldest of three children of the Italian journalist Andrea Purgatori and the German art historian and actress Nicola Schmitz. Today he is a citizen of both Italy and Germany. His grandfather, Mirko Purgatori, was a film producer, his cousin Giorgio Salvioni, who died in 1994, was a screenwriter and film producer.

After kindergarten he attended the German School in Rome . Here Purgatori already appeared as an amateur actor in front of classmates. Later he was a member of the school's own theater group. He took his first acting courses from the age of 18 in New York City . He got his first film role in 2007 as one of the leading actors in the crime series Donna Detective .

In 2008 he began studying international relations at the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali in Rome, which he broke off a short time later. He went to London to receive professional acting training. In Great Britain he was a graduate of the Oxford School of Drama .

In 2010 Purgatori returned to Italy, where he found audiences in the theater as well as in film and television productions. He played a leading role in Tennessee Williams ' play The Glass Menagerie and was seen as " Mark Antony " in Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare .

As a film actor, Purgatori has so far only been able to shine in a few internationally acclaimed productions. His best-known film was the comedy To Rome With Love , produced in 2012 and directed by Woody Allen .

Purgatori lives in Rome and Berlin , but also in London and Los Angeles .
