The German School Rome ( Scuola Germanica di Roma ) is a German school abroad . It is a private school whose beginnings go back to 1851. It is an excellent German school abroad . This year, for the first time, children from Rome- based Germans were regularly taught on the Capitol . The school defines itself as a meeting school . Your degrees are recognized by Germany, Austria and Italy.
The German School Rome is located in Rome at Via Aurelia Antica 399, west of the Villa Doria Pamphili park . It has a swimming pool and many sports facilities. The afternoon program includes numerous sporting and musical offers, including a. several choirs and orchestras as well as music lessons for soloists. Thomas Harth has been the headmaster since August 1st, 2017.

The school takes its students from kindergarten , through elementary school (grades 1–4) and high school (grades 5–12).
In the afternoons, the school offers extensive extracurricular programs with courses in the musical, artistic, scientific and sporting fields, as well as intensive courses, homework supervision and various competitions.

- In Italian, two hours of geography are taught in the 5th grade, two hours of history and biology in the 6th grade, two hours of history in the 7th grade, two hours of Romance in the 10th grade, and philosophy (2 hours per week , bilingual ), taught history in the 11th and 12th grades (2 hours per week).

The school must adhere to the regulations of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs in terms of lessons, certificates and German-language exams . It is also bound by the requirements of the recognition agreement concluded in 1975 between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Italy . The school issues a German Abitur certificate . If the conditions of the recognition agreement are met, it is equivalent to an Italian Abitur.
Support and funding
The German School Association in Rome is responsible for the German School in Rome. The students are members of the association. Natural and legal persons can become sponsoring members. The 11-member board consists of nine members elected by the general assembly and two institutional members. The school is financed primarily from the school fees of around 5000 euros per student per year. In addition, it is financially and personally supported by the Federal Republic of Germany by sending teachers.
