Eduard Alexandrowitsch Kokscharow ( Russian Эдуа́рд Алекса́ндрович Кокша́ров ; born November 4, 1975 in Krasnodar ) is a former Russian handball player . He is 1.85 m tall and weighs 94 kg. Koksharow is married and has two children.
Life
Eduard Kokscharow, who last played for the Russian club Medwedi Chekhov (back number 23) and played for the Russian national handball team (back number 23), was used on the left wing and in defense as an early offensive defender.
Koksharow started playing handball at SKIF Krasnodar . In 1999 he then moved to RK Celje . With the men from the Slovenian Styria he won in 2000 and 2001, and in 2003 and 2007, the Slovenian Championship and 2004, the EHF Champions League . From 2011 he played for the Russian series champion Medvedi Chekhov, with whom he won the championship and the cup in 2012 and 2013. Koksharow ended his career in 2013. He later took on a coaching post in Krasnodar. Kokscharow has been the sports director of the Macedonian club RK Vardar Skopje since 2016 . In July 2017 he took over the coaching position of the Russian national team . Kokscharow coached Vardar Skopje on an interim basis from October 2019 to December 2019. After the 2020 European Championship , he ended his job as Russian national coach.
In his international career, Eduard Kokscharow played over 200 international matches for the Russian men's national handball team, throwing over 1,000 goals . With the Russian men's national handball team, he was 1997 World Champion as well as the 2000 Olympic Games Olympic champion . He was also the top scorer of the 2001 World Cup . At the 2007 World Cup in Germany, he was elected to the All-Star Team .
