Eduard Anatoljewitsch Subotsch ( Russian Эдуард Анатольевич Субоч ; born May 11, 1969 in Chernogorsk ) is a former Soviet ski jumper and today's ski jumping trainer and ski jumping official.

Career

With his first international start for the Soviet Union at the Four Hills Tournament in 1987/88 , he made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup on December 30, 1987 . However, he did not succeed in reaching the points in the opening competition on the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf or in the other competitions. His best result on the tour, which he finished with 501.2 points in 45th place, was 36th place in Bischofshofen .

At the following Olympic Winter Games in Calgary in 1988 , Subotsch jumped from the normal hill with jumps on 76 and 78 meters in 38th place. With the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Subotsch began to realign in sport. So he moved to Cary in the United States in 1992 . As a result, he won the Norge Ski Jumping Event in Fox River Grove five times in a row. However, Subotsch did not succeed in gaining a foothold internationally, which is why he ended his active ski jumping career a little later.

After the end of his active career, Subotsch began working as a trainer and as a juror in national and international jumping. He also coached the Russian national team at times. As a juror, he supervised various competitions in the Continental Cup or the Ski Jumping Grand Prix , including in Almaty and Nizhny Tagil in 2013.

He is also the judge for the ski flying world championship 2014 in Harrachov .
