The work comprises nearly 3000 works: sketches, studies, drawings, paintings, wall paintings, book illustrations, book decorations and postcard designs in oil, chalk, pencil, crayon, watercolor and ink painting. Fiedler furnished the interior of the Veste Wachsenburg, which was rebuilt in the 19th and early 20th centuries, with historical and mystical representations. For the planned redesign of the Wachsenburg in the 1920s and 1930s, Fiedler made designs for the walls of the Great Knight's Hall . He created a total of 471 designs, murals, portraits, postcards and drawings for the Wachsenburg alone. Eight murals by Fiedler in the south room of the knight's hall on the fortress were destroyed during the GDR era. Only photographs of them that were made in 1952 still exist. Portraits painted by Fiedler show images of personalities from the ducal houses of Saxony-Coburg and Gotha, family members and other people. Other motifs were landscapes and townscapes, especially from Central Thuringia, but also from the Middle East during his military service there. For the liner SMS Thüringen launched in 1909 , Fiedler created the picture "Gotha with Schloss Friedenstein", which hung in the mess hall. The ship was destroyed by the French as a target ship after the World War, the plant was lost.
