Eduard Herrmann Volkmar Ficker (born September 13, 1801 in Wilsdruff ; † November 17, 1861 in Spremberg near Neusalza) was a Saxon theologian with the academic degree of master's degree and pastor of the town of Neusalza and later of the village of Spremberg, now the city of Neusalza-Spremberg .

Live and act

Born and raised as a child of Christian-Protestant parents - his father was a cantor in Briesnitz near Dresden - after completing his theology studies on October 19, 1830, he was initially given the pastor's post in the city of Neusalza , which he held there until 1843. Then he was appointed by the church patron, the royal Saxon privy councilor Ferdinand von Reiboldt († April 13, 1858), to the neighboring parish of Spremberg , where he worked until his death.

Preacher and chronicler

Pastor Magister Ficker, who was highly regarded in both parishes, worked as a local historian in addition to his preaching office and the education of the youth , and at that time he developed and published a publication on the history of the city of Neusalza.

He is considered the ninth pastor of the city of Neusalza and the 18th Protestant pastor of the Spremberg community. Magister Ficker found his final resting place in the old cemetery by the Spremberg village church .
