Eduard Jaunez

Eduard Jaunez (born November 12, 1834 in Metz ; † 1916 ) was a Lorraine engineer and entrepreneur . In 1865 he co-founded the clay factory Utzschneider & Ed. Jaunez in Saargemünd (Sarreguemines). As part of his entrepreneurial activity, there were other foundations and takeovers of pottery factories: 1862 in Paray-le-Monial (France), 1873 in Wasserbillig (Luxembourg), 1876 in Jurbise (Belgium), 1881 in Pont-Sainte-Maxence (France) , 1890 in Zahna (Germany) and 1901 in Betschdorf (Alsace).

From 1874 to 1876 Jaunez was mayor of the city of Sarreguemines, temporarily also president of the district assembly of Lorraine (Conseil Général de la Lorraine; 1877–1890) and member of the regional committee of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine . From 1874 to 1887 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the Alsace-Lorraine Protest Party . As a member of parliament, he represented the constituency of the Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine 12 (Saargemünd - Forbach).

His son Max von Jaunez (1873–1947) was also a member of the Reichstag from 1903 to 1906.
