Eduard Kaiser (industrialist)

Eduard Kaiser (born January 4, 1855 in Witten , † June 27, 1911 in Braunfels ) was a German coal and steel industrialist and sole director of Buderus AG from 1901 to 1911 .

Live and act

Kaiser completed his commercial training at the Elisabeth colliery . In 1885 he became mine director of the Piesberg colliery in Osnabrück and took care of the sale of the mine to the Georgs-Marien-Bergwerks- und Hüttenverein . In 1895 he became a board member of Buderus'schen Eisenwerke in Wetzlar and from 1896 its general director. Kaiser made decisive improvements to and modernized Buderus and managed the company from 1901 until his death.

Eduard Kaiser was also the founder and, from October 12, 1900, until his death, the first president of the Wetzlar Chamber of Commerce and Industry . He was a city councilor in Wetzlar and a member of the district council in the district of Wetzlar .

Eduard Kaiser was a Protestant and had married Emilie Helling in 1886. The marriage resulted in two daughters. Eduard-Kaiser-Strasse is named after him in Wetzlar's core city .
