Before the organ in the Hofkirche was rebuilt, he recorded a record in order to record the original sound of the instrument. As a concert organist, he has given many organ concerts at home and abroad, including in Lucerne as part of the International Music Festival . In 1957, almost at the beginning, Eduard Kaufmann became a member of the Lucerne Festival Strings Lucerne . Here he mainly played the harpsichord and occasionally the organ. With this chamber orchestra he went on many concert tours through Switzerland and abroad. B. to Vienna , Prague , Athens , London , Edinburgh, Salzburg, Munich, Stockholm or Dubrovnik. The concert activities took the Festival Strings to Germany, France, Finland, Sweden and Norway, but also to North America, Canada , Cuba, Japan and what was then Rhodesia and South Africa . Eduard Kaufmann remained loyal to the ensemble, with which he also recorded several records, until 1983.

Despite his preoccupation with music, Eduard Kaufmann remained a priest: in the daily choral service of the Canons' Monastery, as a religion teacher at the Rey private school and at the "Institut St. Agnes" or as a pastor. His final resting place is in the cemetery behind the Hofkirche Luzern, near his place of work and his apartment.
