Eduard Kierschner

Eduard Kierschner (born April 5, 1825 in Lemberg , Galicia , † March 1, 1879 in Berlin ) was an Austrian theater actor and writer .

Life

After graduating from high school in Prague, he attended the polytechnic school in Vienna, but renounced the exercise of the technical profession and devoted himself to the stage. Without having received any dramatic training, he made his debut on June 14, 1843 at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna as “Raoul” in the Jungfrau and was engaged. After he had worked as an actor in Preßburg and Ödenburg, he joined the association of the Hofburgtheater for second lovers , where he appeared for the first time on August 16, 1844. He worked there until his retirement in 1871. He then went to Berlin to take over the management of a theater school. The artist, who headed the famous Kierschner Theater Academy while he was active in Vienna, was also active as a writer.

He was married to his fellow actor Marie Weißhappel .
