Kiko Pedrozo

Kiko Pedrozo (* 1955 in Asunción ) is a Paraguayan harpist and singer.

Live and act

At the age of eight, Kiko Pedrozo began to play the Paraguayan harp at the request of his father . At the age of eleven he accompanied his father and two of his sisters to engagements in Paraguay, where they performed with Paraguayan folklore .

In 1976 he went to Europe, first to Spain and 1978 to Germany. He played on television appearances and recordings with, among others, Caterina Valente and Roberto Blanco . For several years he played the harp with Paraguayan ensembles . In the early 1990s he got to know the German singer-songwriter Franz Benton , through whom he expanded his musical spectrum to include pop and rock music as well as Irish music . He also performs regularly with accordionist Hansi Zeller . Together with Hansi Zeller he also appears with the “Benton Trio”.

Since 2000 he has been working on Willy Astor's “Sound of Islands” project , which also includes Titus Vollmer and Martin Kälberer . He was also seen on television with Willy Astor.

Kiko Pedrozo's harp playing can also be heard in the films The White Maasai and Nowhere in Africa .
