Eduard Kleine

Edward Little (* 2. October 1837 in Herford , † 6. April 1914 in Dortmund ; Complete name: Eduard Friedrich Ferdinand Small ) was a German mining - engineering and - entrepreneurs and 1887-1889 member of parliament of the National Liberals .

Life

Eduard Kleine, who was born in Herford on October 2, 1837 as the son of pastor Johann Ludwig Kleine (1805–1885), studied mining after attending the Friedrichs-Gymnasium Herford in Halle (Saale) and Berlin . Afterwards, Kleine worked for a short time as a steiger and later took a financial stake in hard coal mines. He married into the Hueck family, who worked in the mining industry. From 1875 he was a city councilor in Dortmund and from 1887 to 1889 a member of the Reichstag for the National Liberals . From 1904 Eduard Kleine sat on the supervisory board of the then largest mining company in the Ruhr area, the Gelsenkirchener Bergwerks-AG , which had taken over some of the Hueck mines. From 1905 to 1909, Kleine was chairman of the Association for Mining Interests in the Dortmund District Mining Authority . In addition, he held the office of President of the Dortmund Chamber of Commerce from 1905 to 1914 . In 1913 he was made honorary citizenship of the city of Dortmund. Eduard Kleine died in Dortmund on April 6, 1914.
