Gustav Eduard Lösche

Gustav Eduard Lösche also Gustav Eduard Loesche (born January 3, 1821 in Dresden , † January 25, 1879 ibid) was a Saxon physicist and naturalist.

Life

Gustav Eduard Lösche attended the Kreuzschule in Dresden and then studied medicine and natural sciences at the University of Leipzig . After his doctorate as Dr. med. and Dr. phil. In 1848 he was appointed teacher of physics at the Technische Bildungsanstalt zu Dresden and a year later in 1849 he was appointed full professor of physics and theoretical chemistry.

From 1862 to 1876 he worked as a professor for experimental and higher physics at the Royal Saxon Polytechnic School (from 1871 Royal Saxon Polytechnic) and then continued his lectures in mathematical physics until 1879.

Lösche undertook several research trips to the eastern Alps and published his findings about them in the Allgemeine Deutsche Naturhistorische Zeitung, the organ of the natural science society ISIS in Dresden at the time, in which he was involved until the end. The various collections brought together during his travels aroused the expressed interest of Leopold von Buch .

On June 15, 1865, Gustav Eduard Loesche with the academic surname Dalton was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 2047a ) in the Leopoldina .
