Eduard Pilsak von Wellenau

Eduard Pilsak , from 1825 Pilsak Edler von Wellenau and Pilsak von Wellenau (born July 18, 1823 in Vienna , Austria , † March 8, 1907 ibid) was an Austrian Austro-Hungarian Lieutenant Field Marshal .

Life

He came from a family Slavic origin with the first documentary mention in 1657 in Litomerice (see: Pilsak ) and was the son of the late kk Major General Wenzel Pilsak , who in 1825 with his descendants in the Austrian peerage with the title "Edler von Wellenau" raised had been. With Edward's death in 1907, this noble family died out in the second generation of the male line.

Like his father Wenzel, Eduard began his military career at KuK Technische. Military Academy in Vienna and was an officer in the Bombardier Corps . In summer 1866 he became a lieutenant colonel in the artillery - Regiment No. conveyed 10th. Later he was artillery director at the General Command in Brno .

On October 24, 1875 he was promoted to major general with effect from November 1, 1875 and retired on March 1, 1879 with the rank of Lieutenant Field Marshal.
