Eduard Vogel (veterinarian)

Eduard Julius Vogel (born May 3, 1831 in Ludwigsburg , † January 29, 1919 in Stuttgart ) was a German veterinarian .

Life

Born in Ludwigsburg, Eduard Vogel took up a degree in architecture at the Polytechnic in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe after completing his Abitur , before he switched to studying veterinary medicine in 1853 and took the state examination at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna in 1857 . Vogel subsequently held an assistant position in anatomy at the veterinary school in Budapest , after which he was appointed as a stud veterinarian on the Esterhazyschen estates in Hungary .

In 1863 he was given a teaching position at the Stuttgart Veterinary School, where he held lectures on pathological anatomy and drug theory . In 1900 he was considered Associate Professor of internal medicine and pharmacology emeritiert . Eduard Vogel, who published the 5th and 6th editions of Eduard von Hering's Handbook of Veterinary Operations in 1891 and 1897 , died in Stuttgart in 1919 at the age of 87. He was one of the Stuttgart Masonic Lodge Wilhelm to the rising sun on.
