Eduard von Heuss (born July 5, 1808 in Oggersheim , † October 24, 1880 in Bodenheim ) was a Hessian court advisor, court painter and lithographer .

Heuss was the son of a lawyer who practiced in Oggersheim and continued his career as district director in Alzey , later as a higher court and city councilor in Mainz . Heuss began drawing and lithography in Mainz at the age of thirteen.

He continued his further training in Munich, where he also studied medicine. For the physiologist Ignaz Döllinger he used his skills as a creator of pathological-anatomical drawings. When the Minister Maximilian von Montgelas commissioned a life-size picture, he attracted the attention of Grand Duke Ludwig II. He stayed for a long time in Rome, Mainz and Munich. For the Mainz Cathedral he painted the image of Christ in the Laurentius Altar.

His estate was exhibited and auctioned in Mainz in 1883, and in 1901 and 1903 by the Munich auctioneer Hugo Helbing in Munich.
