Career
Eduardo Adelino da Silva began his career in his hometown club CR Vasco da Gama in 1999. He first started in the reserve team. There he was able to shine with his good exploitation of chances and was then pulled up to the first team at the age of 20. With every game in the professional team, a constant improvement could be seen. However, he only played three games and did not score a goal. His good performance drew the attention of many clubs in Europe to him. So he moved to Sporting Charleroi in 2000 . In the first year he was able to convince again and enthused the board and the fans. Until 2003 he was always a seeded regular player and scored a total of 24 goals in 84 games.
In 2003 he then moved to the French club FC Toulouse . The trainer was convinced of the speed and accuracy of the fit Edwardo. There he also tried a new position, namely the left midfield . He proved himself in this position and got a regular place. He lost his regular place when several new signings were added.
In January 2005 it was awarded to FC Basel for a year and a half . At first he only took a place on the bench, but after good performance as a substitute he was able to secure a regular place. After the loan period ended and six goals in 29 games, the striker was signed on. He left FC Basel on June 18, 2009 after manager Thorsten Fink did not offer him a contract extension.
On February 10, 2010, he signed a contract with the San José Earthquakes in Major League Soccer .
