Eduardo Alexandre Baptista , called Eduardo Baptista (born March 30, 1972 in Campinas , SP ) is a Brazilian football coach .

Career

Eduardo Baptista wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father Nelsinho Baptista as a football player . After starting in the youth sector at CA Juventus , he stopped playing football on the advice of his father.

He then became active as a physiotherapist and as such accompanied his father to various clubs, including a. also to Japan. From there he returned alone in 2011. Initially still working in his profession, Baptista took over the coaching position at Sport Recife in 2014 , where he had been working since 2012. In the 2015 season he then moved to Fluminense Rio de Janeiro in September . He replaced Enderson Moreira there . He stayed with the club until the end of the 2015 season to look after the AA Ponte Preta in 2016 . Shortly before the end of the championship round in 2016 , he was replaced by Felipe Moreira on December 2, 2016.

On December 16, 2016, he became the new coach at Palmeiras São Paulo . He replaces the master coach Cuca , who resigned from office. After the 3-2 loss to Club Jorge Wilstermann on May 3, 2017 in the Copa Libertadores 2017 , Baptista was sacked at Palmeiras the following day.
