Edward Arron

Edward Arron (* 1977 in Cincinnati , Ohio ) is an American cellist.

Arron had his first cello lessons in his hometown at the age of seven, which he continued from the age of ten in New York with Peter Wiley . Until 1998 he studied at the Juilliard School of Music with Harvey Shapiro . In 2000 he appeared at the Opening Night Gala of the Caramoor International Festival with Yo-Yo Ma and the Orchestra of St. Luke's in Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto for two cellos.

In the same year he made his debut as a solo cellist at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art . Since 2003 he has been the artistic director of the Metropolitan Museum Artists in Concert , a series of concerts and readings launched on the 50th anniversary of the museum's foundation. In 2009 he succeeded Charles Wadsworth as artistic director and musician of the Musical Masterworks concert series in Old Lyme / Connecticut. He is also artistic director of the Caramoor Virtuosi and the Alpenglow Chamber Music Festival in Summit County / Colorado.

As a soloist Arron u. a. at Carnegie Hall , Lincoln Center and New York Town Hall , Seattle Chamber Music , Chamber Music Conference of the East, and Isaac Stern's Jerusalem Chamber Music Encounters . He participated in Yo-Yo Mas Silk Road Project and is a member of the contemporary music ensemble Mosaic .
