Old Lyme is a city in New London County in the US state Connecticut , with about 7600 inhabitants (as of 2010). Old Lyme, along with the neighboring city of Lyme, is the namesake for Lyme borreliosis . Old Lyme is the US -Central from Sennheiser .

history

Old Lyme is located on the east bank of the mouth of the Connecticut River and was founded on February 13, 1665 from Saybrook on the west bank .

Old Lyme artist colony

At the beginning of the 20th century, an artist colony was established in Old Lyme, which still exists today. Many important American Impressionists lived in the colony, including Childe Hassam , Edward Charles Volkert , Willard Metcalf , Wilson Irvine , William Henry Howe , Robert William Vonnoh, and Henry Ward Ranger . The Florence Griswold House, the seat of the colony, is now an Impressionist painting museum .
