Chris Elliott
Chris Elliott (* 31 May 1960 in New York City as Christopher Nash Elliott ) is an American comedian and actor . He is the son of comedian Bob Elliott and father of actress Abby Elliott .

Chris Elliott became famous in the United States when he appeared on the television show Late Night with David Letterman in the early 1980s and played some weird roles on it until 1990.
In the 1990s he created his own sitcom , Get A Life , in which he acted as a 30-year-old newsboy Chris Peterson , who lives with his parents. His actual father, Bob Elliott, played the father of Chris Peterson in it . Even Brian Doyle-Murray was seen in the series.
Elliott was from 1994 on the well-known US comedy show Saturday Night Live . In the same year he starred in the film Ship Boy Ahoy! , in which Elliott's old employer David Letterman also had a guest appearance. Elliott also wrote the script, and Tim Burton produced it .
In ten episodes of the sitcom Everyone Loves Raymond , he played Peter MacDougall , a member of Robert's in-laws. He also had various guest appearances in the sitcoms King of Queens (2001, as F. Moynihan) and Pete (2006), in The Wild Seventies as Mr. Bray (2005), in Still Standing as Jeff Hackman (colleague of Bill Miller ) and in Jim Again and again as Reverend Gaylord Pierson (3 episodes). He also made a guest appearance on the sitcom, The Nanny , in which he posed as the president's bodyguard but was really only protecting the president's parrot. Elliott also has a guest role in the US series How I Met Your Mother , in which he plays the role of the father of Lily, one of the main characters.
Since 2007 he has appeared repeatedly on the Late Show with David Letterman .

In Germany, Elliott is best known for his film appearances. In 1993 he played the cameraman Larry in the comedy And Groundhog Day at the side of Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell .
In 1998, he played Mary's annoying ex-boyfriend ( Cameron Diaz ) in Crazy About Mary , who got an itchy rash at the sight of her.
He was also seen in Part 2 (2001) and Part 4 (2006) of the Scary Movie series.
Books
Elliott has written two fictional books. Daddy's Boy , a biography of growing up with a famous father; and The Shroud of the Thwacker, a historical novel about a serial killer in New York in 1882 that parodies the infamous Jack the Ripper case .
Private
Chris Elliott has been married to Paula Niedert since 1986 and has two children, one of whom is the actress Abby Elliott . He has lived in Old Lyme , Connecticut with his family since 2008 .
