Osmosis Jones is a comedy film that consists largely of animated scenes and is interrupted by isolated real film scenes. These are also part of the plot.
action
The unhealthy zookeeper Frank is infected with a dangerous virus while working. This gets into Frank's body via an egg that was lying on the floor for a short time. The saliva vessels in his mouth immediately begin to clear the egg, but the virus goes unnoticed.
The computer-animated film hero Osmosis Jones initially makes a mockery of all white blood cells because he can not neutralize a common germ .
The head of the department is angry, but grants him the task of taking care of Frank's now swollen neck. The cold tablet DRIX comes into play as a support.
Everything seems to have been eliminated and DRIX wants to remove itself from Frank's body via the bladder, but the virus, Thrax, is still in the body. With the helpers from the axillary sweat glands , he plans his project and wants to kill Frank in the record time of 48 hours.
Frank's daughter is on a school trip when he is overwhelmed by the attack and comes to the hospital. The high fever becomes a mortal danger.
Thrax reveals his plan to kill Frank's daughter in an even shorter record time.
But Osmosis Jones succeeds in rendering the virus harmless in a glass of pure alcohol and finally getting it back into Frank's body.
Finally, Osmosis is celebrated as a hero and Frank has learned from the incident, changes his diet and does more sports with his daughter.

criticism
Lexicon of International Films : The actual story of the film is by far not as original and funny as some of the lovingly painted details - a simple parody of cop and "buddy" movies. Overall, however, a funny mixture of real film and imaginative animation with slight satirical swipes at modern life, played convincingly.
