Randy Edelman

Randy S. Edelman (born June 10, 1947 in Paterson , New Jersey ) is an American film composer .

Life

Randy S. Edelman grew up as the son of a primary school teacher and an accountant in Teaneck . He began playing the piano in his childhood, attended the Cincinnati Music Conservatory , and then played as a pianist in New York on Broadway .

He produced several solo records with songs, some of which were later put on with Barry Manilow , Olivia Newton-John and others. In the 1970s he also had his own hit parades: Concrete and Clay and The Uptown Uptempo Woman (both 1976). He then went to Los Angeles , and after some film music in the 1970s, he began from the 1980s to write the music for well-known US films and television series. His work includes around 100 film and television productions.

Randy Edelman has been married to singer and songwriter Jackie DeShannon since June 3, 1973 .
