Edward Dahl

Edward Dahl ( Edward Martin Dahl ; born August 3, 1886 in Bromma , Stockholm , † November 21, 1961 in Enskede , Stockholm) was a Swedish medium and long-distance runner .

At the Olympic Intermediate Games in Athens in 1906 , he won bronze in the 5-mile run after he was disqualified in front of him John Daly . Daly had hindered Dahl on the home stretch (apparently not on purpose, but because he swayed exhausted). Dahl failed over 1500 meters in Athens in the lead.

At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 , he started over 800 meters , 1500 meters, 5 miles and in the 3-mile team run, but was eliminated in all competitions in the preliminary round.

In 1908 he became Swedish champion over 800 meters, in 1905 and 1906 over 1500 meters and in 1905 over 10,000 meters . On August 23, 1908, he set a national record over 1500 meters in Stockholm with 4: 09.6 minutes.
