Edward M. Abroms

Edward Meyer Abroms (born May 6, 1935 in Los Angeles , California - † February 13, 2018 in Thousand Oaks , California) was an American film editor and television director .

Life

Abroms began his career as a film editor initially for television in the late 1960s and was responsible for editing various series and TV films. In the 1970s and 1980s there were also some movies, but his focus was always on television. In 1970 and 1972 he was awarded an Emmy .

He also turned to directing and staging episodes of various television series in the 1970s, including several episodes of Operation in Manhattan .

For the film The Flying Eye , he and his colleague Frank Morriss were nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Editing in 1984.

In 2006 he was honored with the ACE Career Achievement Award .
