The Eenhana Shrine and Memorial Park ( English Eenhana Shrine ; also Eenhana Memorial Park and Shrine ) is a war memorial near the city of Eenhana in the Ohangwena region in central northern Namibia .
The monument, which was built for five million Namibian dollars , was inaugurated by President Hifikepunye Pohamba in 2008 and serves to preserve memories of the Namibian struggle for freedom. The building was built by the Chinese company China State Construction Engineering .
public perception
The monument was proposed for inclusion in the list of National Monuments in Namibia in late 2010 , also in order to increase public interest in the shrine. It is currently considered a white elephant and is hardly noticed in public or by tourists.
