Egbert Picker

Egbert Picker (born February 15, 1895 in Nuremberg , † March 27, 1960 in Ingolstadt ) was a German officer , most recently lieutenant general in World War II .

Life

Picker joined the Royal Bavarian Army on August 10, 1914 as a flagjunker in the Royal Bavarian 11th Infantry Regiment "von der Tann" . He served in World War I and was wounded several times. In the interwar period, Picker joined the Amberg Freikorps . He was accepted into the Reichswehr .

Picker commanded the 3rd Mountain Division in 1943 during World War II . From 1944 he served as the commander of the German Liaison Command 184 of the Italian Alpini division "Monte Rosa" until the end of the war.

In 1947 Picker was released from captivity in the US.
