Eggelstetten is a church village and part of the municipality Oberndorf am Lech in the district of Donau-Ries in the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .
The village of Flein also belongs to the district .

Eggelstetten was an independent municipality in the district of Donauwörth until July 1, 1972 and on that day, as part of the regional reform in Bavaria, was added to the district of Donau-Ries , which was called the district of Nördlingen-Donauwörth until May 1, 1973 . On May 1, 1978 it was incorporated into the municipality of Oberndorf am Lech.

The Catholic branch church Sankt Margareta in Eggelstetten and the village of Flein belong to the parish of St. Nikolaus in Oberndorf am Lech.

Eggelstetten is on the DON 38 district road , which leads from Asbach-Bäumenheim via Eggelstetten to Oberndorf am Lech .
