geography

course

The Eggermühlenbach begins in the Bippen district of Klein Borkern. With a northwesterly flow direction it reaches at Eggermühlen the Eggermühlen castle in which he the moat fed. After passing the village of Kettenkamps , the Strautbach branches off from the Eggermühlenbach. The Eggermühlenbach splits into two arms at the Kleiner Merschdamm in the northern municipality of Kettenkamp. The right arm flows further east and takes on the Kohlriedenbach here . North of Nortrup , the two arms of the Eggermühlenbach reunite. Shortly before the estuary, the left-hand basic deduction is crossed on a dam. The Eggemühlenbach flows into the Kleine Hase in the Mimmelager district of Wierup .

history

Part of the Eggermühlenbach should be designated as an FFH area . For reasons that can no longer be determined today, the proposal was removed from the list of FFH areas to be designated in 1999. In 2006 the municipality of Nortrup submitted an application to the district of Osnabrück to relocate part of the Eggermühlenbach; this application was later heard by the administrative court of Osnabrück because of objections to the relocation. In May 2017, the Osnabrück Administrative Court determined that the relocation may not be carried out for the time being because the district had not carried out a general preliminary environmental impact assessment . The relocation was described by the district of Osnabrück as "near-natural water development", which is why no environmental impact assessment was carried out.
