Egidijus Vareikis
Egidijus Vareikis (born March 26, 1958 in Kaunas ) is a Lithuanian chemist , political scientist and politician.
Life
After graduating from the Kaunas 7th Middle School in Šančiai in 1976 , he graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry at Vilnius University in 1981 and received his doctorate in 1989. In 1990 he took courses in journalism at Saint Paul University in Ottawa and Marquette University in Milwaukee . In 1993 he graduated from the University Institute for International Studies and Development in Geneva . From 1995 to 2004 he taught at Kaunas University and at the Institute of Political Science at Vilnius University, from 1997 to 2000 head of the Department of Political Science . From 2000 to 2012 he was a member of the Seimas .
He was a member of the Lietuvos krikščionių Demokratieų partija , Moderniųjų krikščionių Demokratieų sąjunga and the Liberalų ir centro sąjunga . He has been a member of Tėvynės sąjunga since 2004 .
