Eglys Cruz

Eglys Yaima Cruz Farfán (born April 12, 1980 in Sancti Spíritus ) is a Cuban sports shooter .

Eglys Cruz starts for the sports relay of her home province Sancti Spíritus. She has been competing internationally since 1997. The Cuban achieved her first major successes at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo in 2003 , when she won the title in both air rifle disciplines. She took the first time in 2004 at the Olympic Summer Games in part. In the competition with the air rifle she was 39th, in the three-position fight with the small bore rifle 20. The games went better four years later in Beijing . Cruz reached eleventh place with the air rifle, with the small bore rifle she won the bronze medal behind Du Li and Kateřina Emmons . The year before, she had defended her standing title at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro , and finished second in the three-position battle. At the Pan American Games in Guadalajara in 2011 she was second in the three-position fight and in the standing position. The 2012 Summer Olympics in London were less successful . With an air rifle, she was 44th over 10-meter standing, in the three-position battle she also missed the final in 16th place.
