The Einöde Eichig is part of the municipality of Neunkirchen am Sand in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland is located about one kilometer northeast of the center of Rollhofen and three kilometers northeast of Neunkirchen. It lies at an altitude of 363  m above sea level. NHN , at the southwestern foot of the Rothenberg .

history

The former name of Eichig was Fallhaus what the location, mostly off the main town house in Upper German Skinner called, see Case House .

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the town became part of the independent rural community of Rollhofen with the second municipal edict . The hamlet of Wolfshöhe, which did not yet exist at the time, was also assigned to this municipality after its establishment. In the course of the communal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Eichig was incorporated into the Neunkirchen municipality together with the municipality of Rollhofen in 1972. In 1961 Eichig had seven residents.

Sanctuary

In 2001 was homestead structurally extended and the sanctuary converted for animals. On average, 200 animals are looked after by the residents of the Eichighof.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is made by an unpaved municipal road that connects Eichig with Rollhofen.
