Eija Salonen (born December 10, 1975 in Kärkölä , Finland ) is a former Finnish biathlete .

Eija Salonen made her debut in the Biathlon World Cup in 1993 when she finished 63rd in the Kontiolahti sprint . Three years later she won first individual World Cup points in Osrblie as 25th. In 1996 she took part in the biathlon world championships for the first time in Ruhpolding and was 29th in the individual. She achieved a first outstanding result in 1999 with a third place with the Finnish relay team around Katja Holanti , Outi Kettunen and Annukka Mallat at a race in Lake Placid . 2002/03 Salonen had their best World Cup year. In the context of the World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk , Salonen achieved her best placement in an individual race when she was seventh in the individual. Even with the relay, she achieved a good placement in sixth place at the World Cup. In five races she came in the points and was 42nd in the overall World Cup.
