Outi Kettunen (born March 8, 1978 in Kajaani , Finland ) is a former Finnish biathlete .

Kettunen, a student from Kajaani, has been involved in biathlon since 1987 and competes for Kajaani Biathlon . She made her international debut at the 1997 Junior World Championships in Forni Avoltri . In the individual and in the sprint, she came in fifth there. She made her World Cup debut at the beginning of the 1998/99 season in Hochfilzen . In her first race, an individual, she was 17th to win her first World Cup points. Shortly afterwards she was fourth in the top ten for the first time in the singles in Osrblie . It should also be her best World Cup result. In eleven races in this, her best season, Kettunen was able to collect World Cup points and in the end achieved 22nd place in the overall standings. Also with the relay, to which Katja Holanti , Annukka Mallat and Eija Salonen belonged, she was able to achieve her best result as third in Lake Placid . This season she also took part in the biathlon world championships for the first time. In Kontiolahti , she was sixth in the relay and sprint and eighth in the pursuit.

By 2005 she took part in another four world championships, but apart from relay placements, she could no longer build on her good results. In 2002 Kettunan took part in the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City , without achieving any noteworthy placements. After the 1999/2000 season , the Finn was only able to achieve presentable results sporadically.
