Eike Christian Hirsch (born April 6, 1937 in Bilthoven , Netherlands ) is a German journalist and writer.

Live and act

Eike Christian Hirsch studied theology and philosophy in Göttingen , Heidelberg and Basel , in Basel especially with Karl Barth , who had a great influence on him. He did his doctorate in Heidelberg on Kant's statements on the Christian religion. Until 1996 he was the head of the Religion and Society editorial team at NDR radio .

As a radio writer, he was particularly interested in the discussion of the Christian faith with the natural sciences and atheism . Eike Christian Hirsch became popular in 1975 when the star began to publish its glossary German for know-it-alls . They combine speech observation with wit and satire and thus shaped a new style of infotainment . In the 1980s, Hirsch hosted the TV talk show III nach 9 on Radio Bremen . As a freelance author, he has written books on questions of faith and the German language. In 1971, Hirsch interviewed Werner Heisenberg on the religious question, which can be found in his book Expedition into the Faithful World, and in 2000 he published a biography of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz .
