Eileen Heckart

Anna Eileen Heckart (born March 29, 1919 in Columbus , Ohio ; † December 31, 2001 in Norwalk , Connecticut ) was an American actress who appeared in over 100 television and film roles in her career.

Career

Eileen Heckart won the 1973 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Butterflies Are Free , after receiving a nomination for Böse Saat in 1957 and a Golden Globe . After three nominations for the Tony Award , she received this award in 2000 for Lifetime Achievement (Tony Honors for Excellence in Theater) .

She was married to John Harrison Yankee Jr. († 1997) from 1944 and had three sons.
