Einar Brynjólfsson

Einar Aðalsteinn Brynjólfsson (born October 26, 1968 in Akureyri ) is a politician of the Icelandic pirate party Píratar .

After graduating from high school in Akureyri ( Isl. Menntaskólinn á Akureyri , MA) in 1990 Einar studied history , German and Scandinavian studies at the universities of Trier and Göttingen in Germany . At the latter university, he obtained a Magister Artium degree in 1997 . He later worked as a teacher at the Akureyri vocational school ( Verkmenntaskólinn á Akureyri , VMA) from 1999 to 2010 and at the Akureyri grammar school from 2010 to 2016.

In the parliamentary election on October 29, 2016 , Einar Brynjólfsson was elected as the Píratar candidate for the North-Eastern constituency in the Icelandic parliament Althing . As of May 2017, he was a member of the parliamentary committee for the environment and communication and was a member of the Icelandic delegation to the West Nordic Council .

In May 2017 Einar Brynjólfsson succeeded Ásta Guðrún Helgadóttir as leader of the Píratar parliamentary group in the Althing, after Ásta Guðrún had resigned from this position, but was replaced shortly afterwards by Birgitta Jónsdóttir , who had been chairman of the parliamentary group between 2013 and early 2017 with interruptions .

In the parliamentary elections on October 28, 2017 , Einar Brynjólfsson lost his seat in the Althing.
