The uniflorous Winter sheet ( Shortia uniflora ) is a species of the genus Shortia in the family of Diapensiaceae .
features
The single-flowered winter leaf is an evergreen, perennial, herbaceous plant that reaches heights of up to 15 centimeters. The leaf blade is circular, heart-shaped at the base and 2 to 7 inches long and wide. The crown is pink in color and 2.5 to 3 centimeters in diameter. The stamens are much longer than the anthers.
The flowering period extends from April to May.
Occurrence
The single-flowered winter leaf occurs in Japan in Honshu on rocky slopes and in shady forests at altitudes of 200 to 600 meters.

The single-flowered winter leaf is rarely used as an ornamental plant for rhododendron stands and rock gardens.
Systematics
Shortia uniflora and Shortia galacifolia form the hybrid Shortia × intertexta Marchant .
