One night is a hit song that was composed by Dieter Bohlen . Ramon Roselly won the 17th season of the talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar with his interpretation of the title . In addition to Roselly, the song was also recorded by Chiara D'Amico , Paulina Wagner and Joshua Tappe.

At the end of March, Bohlen announced that he would write the DSDS winning title again after two years. Here he will write both the music and the lyrics. He produced the title with Joachim Mezei. He was also responsible for the mix . The accompanying vocals come from Christoph Leis-Bendorff.

It was first published on April 3, 2020 as a download and music streaming by Electrola , a sub-label of the Universal Music Group . A total of four versions were released, each sung by Chiara D'Amico, Joshua Tappe, Ramon Roselly and Paulina Wagner.

The title was performed live for the first time in the final show of the 17th season of DSDS on April 4, 2020, in the interpretations of Chiara D'Amico and Ramon Roselly. The versions of Paulina Wagner and Joshua Tappe were not shown because they had already been eliminated in the previous rounds.

Content

One night has been arranged differently depending on the singer. The versions of the candidates Roselly, D'Amico and Wagner are shaped in the style of hits . The intro only consists of an "Oh-oh-oh" chorus. This is followed by the first verse and the refrain. Then comes a post-chorus, then the second stanza and again the chorus. The title contains several shifts , most prominently at the end during the last post-chorus. In Roselly's version, for example, the last part is updated in C sharp minor to its subdominant instead of from B minor to E minor as before .

Joshua Tappe's version differs significantly from the other three versions. The style is much more electro-heavy . Lyrically the song is almost identical, only the line “Everything makes sense now” is used as an intro. The choir, however, no longer exists. In addition, its title is a little shorter: it lasts 3:22 minutes; the other versions are between 3:31 and 3:32 minutes.

One night reached in the version of the Roselly chart top of the German single charts and was for Bohlen as the author of 23 number-one hit, which he expanded his record as an author with the most number-one hits in Germany. After a week at the top of the chart, the piece fell back to position 43 in the second week of the chart.Thereby, one night caused the biggest fall from position one within the single top 100 and replaced the previous record holder Schrei nach Liebe ( Die Doctors ) that 2015 from the top of the chart fell back to position 21.
