In June 2015 he moved to the Transport and Communications Committee during the current legislative period, where he served as deputy chairman. Following the 2017 election , Sivertsen moved to the Foreign and Defense Committee, where he was a member until January 2018. He then became a member of the local and administrative committee again, and was its second deputy chairman until March 2020.

Withdrawal after internal party investigations

In March 2020, he announced that he no longer wanted to run for a seat in Storting in the 2021 election . The reason for this was that an internal party investigation was being carried out against him at the time, which found that he was violating the Sexual Harassment Policy . The party then asked Sivertsen to resign from his post as head of the Ap group in the local and administrative committee and he also offered to resign from his other posts.
