Eiting is a district of the Engelsberg community in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein .
geography
The place is in the northern Chiemgau , about one kilometer northwest of the historical center of Engelsberg at an altitude of 487 m above sea level. NN .
history
The village became the seat of the rural community Eiting in 1818 by the Bavarian municipal edict, which included 33 smaller towns, including the hamlets of Bennoberg, Gatterhub, Ottenthal and Stetten. In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , Eiting was incorporated into Engelsberg on July 1, 1972 together with Maisenberg , which both formerly belonged to the district of Mühldorf am Inn . To this day, the place is predominantly agricultural and the number of buildings has hardly increased.
